This mod will allow you to add 3 additional content areas, much like using the Site Message include, anywhere in your template that you might want to add additional content areas that you can edit via your admin.
This can be especially useful to designers who want to add sections - apart from the main content area - where their customers can add things like credit card images, newsletter signup forms, office hours..etc, without them having to edit the template itself.
